  • How do I purchase and start a course?

    Go to www.tapseries.com. Click on Purchase Course, next click on course and select state where you work if prompted. Click on “Buy Course”, select the quantity and click on continue. You will then complete the New Customer or Existing Customer page. While buying the course you will be asked if the course is for you or another student. If it for you, you will be automatically added to your course. If not, after the payment has processed a page will be displayed and a link to add the student is available. Add the student. Lastly, to start the course go to www.tapseries.com, click on Login to Course, enter your username.

    If you did not purchase the course from www.tapseries.com but purchased the course from another person or company, you have a student username and password. You need to click Login to Course at the home page and enter your username.

  • How do I print my certificate?

    The following are directions of how to print a student's certificate. Before starting, please make sure that the computer you are using has access to a working printer and the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.

    1. To go to TAP Series Certificate page, click here. Or you can open a web browser with this URL: http://www.tapseries.com/certificate/.

      Once the page is loaded, type in your student user name and password. This is the same user name and password you use for training. DO NOT use your account user name here.

      Click on Sign In to enter.

    2. Once logged-in, there will be a list of training programs you are enrolled in.

      Notice under Course Status, each course listed will either be marked as In Progress or Completed. You may only print the certificate of a course where Course Status is marked as Completed. The Food Handler course requires a score of 70% or greater, and all other courses require a score of 80% or higher in every lesson to earn the certificate.

      To view the certificate, select the program you wish to print a certificate for by clicking on the circle next to it, then click the View/Print Certificate button.

    3. When the browser has loaded the certificate, it will appear on the screen for viewing. Click on the print button located on the top-left side of your web browser. MAKE SURE that the computer you are using has access to a working printer.

    NOTE:

    Mac computers that use Firefox browsers could have problems with the Adobe Reader software. To obtain your certificate, either use the Safari browser, or send your user name and password to techsupport@tapseries.com and your certificate will be e-mailed to you.

  • How do I resume training?

    When you exit the course the course will bookmark you. To resume your course go to www.tapseries.com, click on Login to Course, and enter your username. Do not pay for the course again to enter the course. Courses do expires after 180 days. Plan to take your course before the expiration.

  • How do I login to the administrator section?

    If you purchased the course from www.tapseries.com, your administrator username and password is at the bottom of the Order Summary Form that you printed from the TAP Series’ website. Use this user name and password to login to our website.

    If you did not purchase the course from www.tapseries.com but purchased the course from another person or company, you have a student username and password. You need to click Login to Course at the home page and enter your username.

  • What is the TAP Series support phone number?

  • Problems playing videos in Google Chrome.
    • Open a new tab in Google Chrome and type in chrome://flags in the address bar.
    • Search for the word "video".
    • Under "Disable hardware-accelerated video decode", click the link that says Enable.
    • Close Google Chrome, open Google Chrome again and try to sign into the course.
  • How to take TAP Series courses on Android devices.

    The latest versions of Food Safety Manager and Food Safety Handler courses should work on your Android device with no download required. If you need help, please call technical support at 888-826-5222.

    Android is phasing out support of flash on their OS 4.03 devices and later. They have removed the flash player from the market store on many of their devices. For other courses, follow the steps below.

    • Go to the Play Store from the home screen.
    • Search the Play Store for the word "Photon".
    • Select "Photon Flash Player and Browser" from the list.
    • Install the Photon Flash Player and Browser.
    • Open the Photon Browser from your home screen.
    • Tap the lightning bolt in the top right corner to activate Flash in the browser.
    • Go to www.tapseries.com and click Start Online Training at the top of the page.
  • How to sign in to take the course.

    If you have a user name and password, click here to sign in.

    If you purchased the course yourself online, you may not be set up to use the course. Click here to add a student to take the course.

  • Training user name and password does not work.

    Possible causes for not being able to login are:

    1. You have the wrong user name and/or password. Call technical support at 888-826-5222 to get your user name and password.
    2. You clicked on the wrong course from the Course Menu screen. Please verify the correct course and click here to try again.
    3. You are typing your user name and password into the wrong page. Please click here to go to the correct page.
    4. You may not be enrolled in the course. See below.
    5. If you did not purchase the course from our website www.tapseries.com, you bought the course through another vendor and they need to create your user name and password and send it to you. Please contact the person or company you purchased the course from to receive your user name and password.
    6. If you bought a course voucher from your school bookstore, you need to take that voucher to your class instructor to be enrolled.
    7. If you did purchase the course from our website www.tapseries.com, click here to add yourself as a student of the course. On the next page, click "Individual/Class Accounts", then "Students are enrolled by administrator".

  • The course is slow or freezes up.

    Some internet connections can have sudden changes in speed, which can affect the course. Try closing the program and signing back in, or trying the course again at a different time of day.

    In order for the course to work properly, your computer needs to be able to play sound. Be sure your computer can play sound from other websites.

    You may need to update your Flash player. Click here to go to the Flash Player Update page.

    Your TAP Series online program may not be functioning properly in your browser. Try using the online course with another browser, like Firefox or Google Chrome:

    Click here to install the Chrome browser, or

    Click here to install the Firefox browser.

    Once the Firefox browser is installed, you need to download the Flash player to use the TAP Series course. Inside Firefox, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer and click Install Now.

    After the Flash software is installed for Firefox, follow your previous directions to start the course using the Firefox browser.

    Google Chrome already comes with Flash Player.

  • How to load on Kindle.

    The latest versions of Food Safety Manager and Food Safety Handler courses should work on your Kindle with no download required. If you need help, please call technical support at 888-826-5222.

    For other courses, please follow these directions if you are using a Kindle:

    Your Kindle Fire should already be set up to play Flash files. If it isn't, download Flash from the app store. Then, you'll need to make sure that Flash is enabled in your browser. Go to Web on your Kindle Fire.

    Click on the menu icon and click on settings:

    1. Click on the menu icon and click on settings.


    2. Scroll down to find Flash and open the options menu.


    3. Select either "always on" or "on demand." The second option will eat up less battery life.

  • How to load on iPad.

    The latest versions of Food Safety Manager and Food Safety Handler courses should work on your iPad with no download required. If you need help, please call technical support at 888-826-5222

    For other courses, iPad and iPhone users need to purchase the "Puffin Web Browser" from the AppStore to be able to use our Flash-based online courses.

    If the keyboard does not appear on the login screen, tap the three dots (settings) in the top right corner of the screen, then tap the Keyboard icon.

    The Puffin Free browser only supports Flash between 8am and 5pm, and is only active for 1 week. Using this browser is not recommended for the Food Safety Manager course, this browser is OK for Food Handler courses. To use this app for more than 1 week, it needs to be purchased from the app store.

  • www.tapseries.com "cannot display the webpage".

    To solve this problem, you can try changing the settings of your internet connection:

    1. Go the Control Panel.
    2. Click Network and Internet, then Network and Sharing Center, and click Change adapter settings.
    3. Select the connection for which you want to configure. For example:
      • To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click Local Area Connection, and click Properties.
      • To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click Wireless Network Connection, and click Properties.
      • If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    4. Select the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the following items, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and then click Properties.
    5. Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Select Use the following DNS server addresses. If there are any IP addresses listed in the Preferred DNS server or Alternate DNS server, write them down for future reference.
    8. Replace those addresses with the IP addresses listed below:
      • For IPv4: enter 8.8.8.8 for Preferred and 8.8.4.4 for Alternate.
      • Alternate IPv4: enter 208.67.220.220 for Preferred and 208.67.222.222 for Alternate.
      • For IPv6: enter 2001:4860:4860::8888 for Preferred and 2001:4860:4860::8844 for Alternate.
    9. Restart the computer and try the website again.
  • How to login to the website.

    If you purchased the course from www.tapseries.com, your administrator user name and password is at the bottom of the Order Summary Form that you printed from our website. Use this user name and password to login to our website.

    If you did not purchase the course from www.tapseries.com but purchased the course from another person or company, you have a student user name and password. You need to click Start Online Training above and enter your user name and password there.

  • How to add student.

    If you did not purchase the program from www.tapseries.com and have not received an administrator user name and password from us directly, you cannot add a student because you should already have a student user name and password. You need to start the course and enter your user name and password there. If you do not have a student user name and password, you need to contact the person or company you received the email from.

    If you have an administrator user name and password and cannot add a student, you can only add as many students as the amount of courses purchased. You need to purchase more courses to add more students. If you need to purchase more courses, click here.

  • How to view or print certificate.
